🔮 The Hearthside Comforter: Hot Water Bottle with a Plush Velvet Cover & Studio Candy Charm 🍬

I really can’t cope with boring, clinical things in my house, especially when the Welsh winter hits and all I want to do is huddle up by the fire. Most hot water bottles look like they belong in a hospital ward, so I wanted to make something that felt like a proper piece of comfort—something beautifully tactile that you’d actually want resting on your sofa or bed.

The cover is made from an incredibly soft, rich plush velvet that feels amazing against your skin and keeps the heat trapped inside for hours. It’s thick, cosy, and a million miles away from the scratchy, thin covers you find on the high street.

To give it a bit of our studio magic, I’ve tied one of my hand-sculpted Studio Candies ceramic charms onto the top loop. Each little charm is made right here at my workbench, glaze-fired in the kiln, and picked to complement the velvet. They look like little pieces of confectionery, but they’re built to last a lifetime.

Like everything we do here, these are made to be kept, loved, and mended—not thrown into a landfill. It’s just a lovely, honest way to keep yourself warm, drop the heating a notch, and bring a bit of defiant colour into your evening wind-down.
